Journey Map & Engaged Leadership Plan
The Journey Map and Engaged Learning and Leadership Plan were H200 assignments that helped me provide a contextual list of milestones, both achieved and future ones to works towards.

Journey Map
This journey map provides a bit of insight even before I started by undergraduate career, and takes a holistic look at the path I took to get to where I was my first year of college.

Engaged Learning and Leadership Plan
One leadership priority that’s on the top of my list is creating a new crafting club on campus and becoming its president. I personally feel that as a biology major I don’t get as much opportunity to tap into my creative side. With this club, I want to make a place where anyone can take a break from the stress of coursework and relax. I hope to have this club registered by spring and then maintain it onwards. This club will also help me keep in touch with my creative side as I pursue a career in medicine, as well as have a network of like minded people. This will help me develop as a community contributor because one of the goals of the club will be sustainability related crafts.
Another leadership priority for me is my role as ALDPES president, which is a freshman honor society with chapters around the nation. This, like the honors college, requires a certain amount of high performance in academic life. I can also apply for scholarships through this organization which is helpful if I want to go do further education. This will help me develop communication skills because as the president I need to ensure that all officers are on the same page and things that need to be done are getting done.
An additional leadership priority that I really enjoy is being a PLTL Chem 105 recitation leader. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and have a good community of fellow leaders. I plan to continue this position all the way until I graduate. Again, the biggest skill learned here is communication. When I’m helping my students, I gain patience and knowledge. It’s a great way to see how to teach and guide someone instead of just telling them the answer. If I go on to be a mentor in the medical, I can use this experience to shape my teaching style.
Engaged Learning and Leadership Milestones
Reflection
I'm very proud that I was able to accomplish each of my engaged leadership and learning plan goals. All three experiences shaped the influence I had on campus and vice versa the influence it had on me as a person. I feel much more confident and secure in my value as honors student after looking back at all my new milestones.
